Years ago whiskey from Waco would seem like an illegal, guilty pleasure. Now visitors to Texas Live! can take a sip without worrying about Johnny Law. Texas Live! has announced a partnership with Waco-based Balcones Distilling as the official Texas-whisky provider of the dining, entertainment and hospitality district opening August 9 in the Arlington Entertainment District.
Texas Live! attendees will be able to enjoy Balcones whisky and whisky-inspired craft cocktails at multiple venues district-wide, as well as at a signature Balcones bar and patio on an elevated space overlooking Arlington Backyard.
“We are thrilled to partner our distillery with Texas Live!, where we believe our award- winning whiskies will complement a world-class experience for patrons,” said Jared Himstedt, head distiller, Balcones Distilling. “As one of the original grain to glass whisky makers in Texas, we look forward to sharing our distilled-in-Texas story with fans and visitors from around the world.”
Balcones Distilling began in Waco in 2008.
