ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – A man suspected of robbing a Colleyville bank has been arrested following a chase and standoff that ended in Arlington.
The man got of an SUV and raised his hands as police took him into custody Wednesday afternoon after a standoff lasting more than an hour.
Investigators say the man was suspected of going into a Bank of America branch in Colleyville, claiming to be armed and demanding cash from a clerk. Police began chasing an SUV the man was driving in a pursuit that led to an Arlington neighborhood.
Officers threw down spike strips to damage the SUV’s tires and help slow the vehicle.
A nearby school was locked down during the standoff.
The name of the suspect and further details on the investigation weren’t immediately released.
