Additional Details: “BIG GUNS IN COWTOWN” POLICE FUNDRAISER EXPANDS TO LARGER VENUE FOR 2nd ANNUAL EVENT, AUGUST 29, 2013 Proceeds to fund FWPD training programs and equipment purchases FORT WORTH, TEXAS (August 2, 2013) – The 2nd annual “Big Guns In Cowtown” fundraising event, benefitting the Fort Worth Police Officers’ Awards Foundation, will take place 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 29th, at the Cendera Center in west Fort Worth. According to event organizer, Jeff Bryan, the event was moved from Del Frisco’s to Cendera Center, located at 3600 Benbrook Highway in west Fort Worth, to accommodate an expanded program and growing demand for tickets. “We’ll have a traveling exhibit of over $1 million worth of Beretta shotguns, plus sports cars, motorcycles, luxury watches and other items on display for guests to enjoy,” said Bryan. Guests will also enjoy fine, hand-rolled cigars from Silver Leaf Cigar Bar, premium wines and beer, and a selection of hors d’oeuvres. A live auction will round out the event. Leading the list of local celebrity “big guns” planning to attend are event host, Hal Jay, sports journalist, Randy Galloway, former Dallas Cowboys player Walt Garrison, and current and past Fort Worth Mayors, Betsy Price and Mike Moncrief, among others. Proceeds will go to fund a variety of Fort Worth Police Department training programs, technology and other needs. “Last year’s event helped to fund the purchase of digital cameras for police to better document actions or evidence at the scene of a crime. Other areas of need include continuing education and aiding families of officers killed in the line of duty,” said Mr. Bryan. “Private donations from events such as this help keep the Fort Worth Police Department proactive and at the top of law enforcement entities nationwide. It is a win-win for the police force and our citizens,” he said. Event tickets cost $250 per person, and can be purchased online at http://fwpoliceawards.org or by contacting Officer Bryan at 817-925-3187 or bryan@fwpoliceawards.org. Sponsors include Beretta, Family Powersports, Autobahn Motorcar Group, Haltom’s Jewelers, Retriever Sporting Clays, Inc., Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Oliver’s Fine Foods, Mercury Chop House, Concussion, and Fort Worth, Texas Magazine. All proceeds will benefit the Fort Worth Police Officers’ Award Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization, which produces an annual awards banquet to honor the city’s bravest, best and brightest officers. The organization also serves to generate donations to help fund a variety of FWPD needs.
