Travelers who can’t get to Fort Worth’s Stockyards can still get a little boot-scootin’ flavor honky-tonk experience in Dallas as Billy Bob’s Texas opens a specialty retail shop in the newly-redesigned Dallas Love Field terminal. Travel retailer Hudson Group and its joint venture partners are opening a store branded with the iconic honky-tonk’s name. Premier Billy Bob’s Texas is one of several locally-themed specialty retail stores in the terminal. Among the Billy Bob’s branded items available in the store are caps, t-shirts, guitar picks, shot glasses, “Live at Billy Bob’s” CDs, and Billy Bob’s-branded salsas and barbecue sauces. Design elements include a marquee similar to the ones in Fort Worth that display the upcoming concerts, concrete handprints of some of the stars that have performed at Billy Bob’s, autographed guitars, and a replica of the famous venue’s backstage wall which features the autographs of the performers. Large flat screen TV’s show concerts and bull riding; while a listening station gives shoppers an opportunity to preview the “Live at Billy Bob’s” CD’s. “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the Billy Bob’s brand to the world,” said Concho Minick, Billy Bob’s president, in a news release. “The Hudson Group has done an excellent job of recreating the exciting elements of The World’s Largest Honky Tonk.” In addition to Billy Bob’s, shops in the redesigned terminal include Famous Texas Boots, Tech on the Go, Spectacles, Bliss, and Fire CZ. The venture will also operate three newsstands, a bookstore and five food and beverage locations, including Jason’s Deli, Dunkin’ Donuts, Baskin Robbins and Texpress Gourmet.
