Calloway’s Nursery branches out

Fort Worth-based Calloway’s Nursery will open two new stores in March, bringing the number of locations to 18 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The newest locations will be in Mansfield at 311 East Debbie Lane and in north Fort Worth at 3936 North Tarrant Parkway.

The Mansfield store is slated to open in early March while the north Fort Worth store will open in late March. The stores’ grand openings will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony with special savings and giveaways.

Calloway’s President and Chief Operating Officer Marce Ward said the company decided to open in Mansfield and north Fort Worth because both areas have grown considerably in recent years.

“Calloway’s is pleased to open in these thriving communities and offer local homeowners new opportunities to create beautiful gardens,” said Ward. “We strive to make gardening fun and successful for everyone – from novices to experts – by offering expert advice from our Texas Certified Nursery Professionals and unmatched selections and quality.”

Each new store is designed to resemble a classic Texas farmhouse, with a rustic stone-covered exterior and a wraparound porch. The interior of each store will feature 5,000 square feet of indoor retail space and a 15,000-square-foot greenhouse. There will also be a 35,000-square-foot outdoor area to display plants and flowers for sale.

Schwarz-Hanson Architects of Fort Worth designed the new stores.

Calloway’s marks 30 years in business in 2016. In addition to its 18 stores around the D-FW area, the company owns Cornelius Nursery in Houston.
