FORT WORTH, Texas — Cowtown Tanning, a Fort Worth-founded custom sunless tanning salon, is expanding its North Texas footprint with a third location coming soon to Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth.
The new salon will mark Cowtown Tanning’s second Fort Worth location and third overall, joining its flagship salon on Blue Bonnet Circle and its Hudson Oaks location serving Parker County.
Founded by Fort Worth entrepreneur Whitney Lombardy in 2018, Cowtown Tanning began as a mobile airbrush tanning business, with Lombardy traveling throughout Fort Worth to serve clients. The business later grew into a private salon studio before opening its first flagship storefront on Blue Bonnet Circle in 2020. In 2024, Cowtown Tanning expanded west with the opening of its second location in Hudson Oaks.
Now, eight years after the business began, Cowtown Tanning is continuing its growth with a return to Fort Worth for location number three.
“Fort Worth is where Cowtown Tanning started, so opening another location here feels especially meaningful,” said Whitney Lombardy, founder and CEO of Cowtown Tanning. “We’ve grown alongside this community for the past eight years, and Camp Bowie felt like the perfect place for our next chapter. We’re excited to bring the Cowtown experience to another part of Fort Worth while continuing to grow the company intentionally.”
Cowtown Tanning specializes exclusively in UV-free tanning, including customized airbrush tans, bridal tanning and body contouring services. The company has built its brand around creating an elevated alternative to the traditional tanning salon, with an emphasis on personalized service, education and natural-looking results.
The Camp Bowie salon will bring the company’s signature experience to a new area of Fort Worth and will feature multiple private treatment rooms, Cowtown Tanning’s full menu of custom sunless services and its growing collection of sunless-safe retail products.
“Our goal has never been to grow just for the sake of growing,” Lombardy said. “We want every location to still feel like Cowtown — welcoming, elevated, personal and connected to the community it serves.”
Construction and preparations for the Camp Bowie location are underway. Cowtown Tanning plans to share additional details regarding the salon’s opening, hiring opportunities and grand opening celebrations in the coming months.
