Dallas-based Haggar acquires Tribal Sportswear

DALLAS (AP) — Haggar Clothing Co. has purchased Tribal Sportswear from Kilmer Capital Fund LP.

Terms of the deal were not released Monday by Dallas-based Haggar.

Tribal was founded in 1976 as a women’s trouser company and has grown into a sportswear business. Tribal will continue to be based in Montreal.

Haggar started in 1926 as a maker of men’s clothing.

Robert is a Fort Worth native and longtime editor of the Fort Worth Business Press. He is a former president of the local Society of Professional Journalists and was a freelancer for a variety of newspapers, weeklies and magazines, including American Way, BrandWeek and InformatonWeek. A graduate of TCU, Robert has held a variety of writing and editing positions at publications such as the Grand Prairie Daily News and InfoWorld. He is also a musician and playwright.
