The Fort Worth September 2013 Meet and Greet will see up venturing into the West 7th entertainment area. We will be meeting at the Abbey Pub, one of the oldest and continuous running Irish Pubs on Fort Worth. We will also experience the excellent offerings of The Vine Taverna as this new Greek eatery will provide us with appetizers. Established in 2000, the Shamrock was opened by Matt McEntire, a true Irishman from Longford. In 2008, Matt leased the bar to Will Wells, Glen Keely, and Chris Ledbetter who opened Poag Mahone’s. After Poag’s moved to their new location in 2010, McEntire reopened the Shamrock Tavern. Long-time employee Mike Burke and Matt Suarez opened The Abbey Pub on August 26, 2012. Mike and Matt, along with a friendly and veteran bar staff, will continue to provide exceptional service everyone has come to expect from the long standing bar. With 10 HD flat screen TVs, the only shuffle board table on 7th street, pool, darts, Golden Tee, and other styles of entertainment, The Abbey Pub is the place to be to watch sports, play games, and chat with friends. A sampling of food will be provided by The Vine Taverna, and attendees will be expected to purchase their own beverages at Happy Hour rates. Members and students pay $5, and nonmembers pay $10. Reserve your spot online. Walk-ins will be accepted based on availability. Registrations at the door must be cash or check. |
