Fort Worth Chamber names small business of year finalists

Twelve Tarrant County businesses have been named finalists for the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 Small Business of the Year Award. Winners will be announced at a reception prior to Mayor Betsy Price’s State of the City address March 4, 2015 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. “Small businesses are the foundation of Fort Worth’s economic success and represent more than 80 percent of the Chamber’s members,” said Chamber President and CEO Bill Thornton. “The prestigious annual Small Business of the Year Award salutes those that operate with exemplary Best Practices.” Finalists were selected by a group of business professionals, MBA or Entrepreneur Center students at TCU’s Neeley School of Business and past award winners who are members of the Small Business Council Committee. Finalists, by category, are:

Emerging Business (in business less than 3 years): > Altitude Trampoline Park, an indoor trampoline park. > Synergy HomeCare, provider of personalized non-medical homecare services for those who need assistance with daily activities. > Varghese & Smith PLLC, a law firm specializing in the handling of federal criminal matters, family law and civil cases.

1-10 Employees: > Affairs Afloat Balloons, a business providing balloons ranging from small gifts to large-scale tradeshow displays. > Precise Energy Products Inc., a company in the oilfield services industry that distributes products such as nitrogen, cementing, wireline and coiled tubing units. > Smat Consulting INC, a full-service website provider.

11-50 Employees: > Broadie’s Aircraft, an aviation maintenance and repair center for corporate, private and charter aircraft and the oldest continuously operating business at Meacham International Airport. > OCG PR, a full-service, minority/woman-owned public relations agency built on collaborative relationships that connect clients with diverse communities. > The Starr Conspiracy, a strategic marketing and advertising agency specializing in enterprise software and service companies.

51-150 Employees: > Firefighting’s Finest Moving & Storage Inc., a full-service moving company specializing in a wide range of services from moving, packing and crating to shipping and storage. > InterConnect Wiring, a manufacturer of aerospace products such as electrical wiring harnesses, power distribution panels and modification kits. > SkiHi Enterprises Ltd., a commercial mechanical contractor performing mechanical HVAC and plumbing services for customers such as Cook Children’s Hospital and TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium.
