Fort Worth frozen food facility to close, resulting in loss of 117 jobs

Ajinomoto will close its Fort Worth frozen food plan, resulting in the loss of 117 jobs, the company said in a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission last week.

The first of the layoffs will occur in March 2020, according to Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc.

Ajinomoto Foods is the U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Ajinomoto Co. Inc., one of the largest food producers in Japan. The Fort Worth facility is located near Fort Worth Meacham International Airport at 5200 Gold Spike Dr. Ajinomoto Foods acquired the factory in 2014 with the purchase of Houston-based Windsor Foods.
