Fort Worth Stock Show adds events assistant, publicity manager

Fort Worth Stock Show changes management

Two new staff members joined the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show amid the expansion of the event’s publicity department.

Sonia Benavides, formerly with the Tarrant County office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, has been named sponsorship coordinator/special events assistant. Benavides will be responsible for ensuring that Stock Show commitments to sponsors are fulfilled. Additionally, she will assist with several special show events, including the live music venue, educational programs, and food and beverage concessionaires.

Matt Brockman is the new manager of the recently expanded publicity department. Brockman, who recently directed the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock, Texas, served as the Stock Show’s administrative manager from 2010 to 2013 and executive assistant from 2006 to 2010. He previously worked for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Department of Agriculture and other agricultural organizations in Austin and Washington, D.C.
