GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) — Grapevine city officials unveiled an 800-pound bronze unicorn statue in an arts effort gracing the top of a downtown building.
Grapevine city officials Thursday night dedicated the artwork as part of the city’s Christmas parade. The winged horse statue is on the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau’s north tower.
The statue, at 7-feet high with a 9-foot wingspan, is part of the Grapevine Public Arts Trail, featuring more than two dozen pieces.
Grapevine spent about $60,000 on the latest artwork, funded by revenue from placement of cellphone antennae equipment on city water towers.
