HELPING HOUSTON GET ITS FEET ON THE GROUND Decatur, Texas (September 6, 2017) – Twisted X hates to see anyone affected by a natural disaster, but when one hits our fellow Texans, we take it personally. That’s why, as we addressed the disaster, we had many conversations. What can we do that won’t just clutter a system that needs to prioritize food and medicine? How and where is the best way to distribute footwear to those in need? Enter Soles4Souls, whose mission is creating sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. “While none of our Twisted X team members were directly affected, we have several retailers and customers who are going through rough time, and we wanted to help in any way we could, we thought that donating shoes and work boots to help victims of this disaster and the first responders is the right thing to do and so decided to distribute one million dollars’ worth of shoes and work boots through Soles4Souls,” says CEO Prasad Reddy. “I was very familiar with Soles4Souls, as they are known experts for distributing footwear to the needy.” “We were thrilled when Twisted X reached out with their offer,” says Buddy Teaster, President and CEO of Soles4Souls. “I continue to be moved by the incredible way individuals and businesses step up in the darkest of times. Soles4Souls was founded as a disaster relief organization in 2006 and continues to act as “second wave” responders, working directly with manufacturers and retailers to procure brand new shoes, clothing and other necessities to distribute to those in need. Soles4Souls has set up a Harvey Relief Fund to mobilize product to affected areas and are accepting monetary donations or inviting people to raise funds. People can help provide relief here.
