A welcome celebration for new Fort Worth City Manager Jay Chapa was hosted by the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and attended by over 300 current and former city officials, friends, family and well-wishers. His hiring left no doubt that there was a swell of excitement that he was selected as the twenty-fourth city manager in the history of Fort Worth.

With Rosa Navejar acting as mistress of ceremony, several speakers from the business and civic community shared stories of their past meetings, experiences and connections with Chappa, and how in his previous roles with the city of Fort Worth he was able to make immediate and lasting impact for the community.
As Chappa graciously addressed the crowd and thanked everyone for their attending and their show of support, he shared of his love of Fort Worth and committed to making every effort to do what would be in the best interest of Fort Worth.
After hearing from many people that Chapa was the right choice to move the city forward as city manger, all present in the room accepted that “IT’S CHAPPA TIME” indeed.
