Additional Details: A collection of works by artist Larry Townsend will be displayed during Gallery night of spring 2014 at Gallery 440, a Fort Worth gallery that features primarily local artists. The collection includes Townsend’s most recent works. Townsend employs drywall texture and oil paint to produce abstract form paintings on large canvas. He begins by defining shapes and structures with drywall and then complements the form with mixed earth-toned colors, providing for a textured and harmonious composition. Townsend specializes in commissioned pieces, which he can design based on color schemes or by specific request. In the past decade, he has produced more than 50 paintings and has completed commissioned work for private collectors in the DFW areas as well as the Fort Worth Board of Relators’ office.
