The story of John James Audubon is one of incredible artistic talent combined with dogged perseverance in cataloguing American birds and creating exquisitely detailed illustrations. Audubon, who was born in France in 1785 and emigrated to the United States in 1803, was a renowned ornithologist and naturalist. He is considered one of this country’s first conservationists.
