MCA honors Larry Anfin

The Multicultural Alliance honored Larry Anfin at their 64th MCA Annual Awards dinner on May 4 at the Fort Worth Club.

Anfin, who was honored by The Fort Worth Business Press in 2014 as Top Private Company CEO, was CEO at Coors Distributing Co. of Fort Worth until 2014 when his family sold the business to Andrews Distributing.

While Anfin said selling beer was the only thing he’s ever done, but most in Fort Worth are just as familiar with his civic involvement, whether serving on nonprofit boards or contributing to local events and charities. Anfin traces that back to his grandfather John McMillan, a longtime civic leader who co-founded the company in 1966 and died in 2001.

“My grandfather was extremely involved in the community,” said Anfin in a 2014 interview. “As time went on, we had to decide what we wanted to do, and what we didn’t want to do. And so some of those things he was doing, we went ahead and did, and other things just came along after. I don’t know how he did it all, because he wouldn’t just send people to go and do it. He would do it, too.”
