Multicultural Alliance president finalist for college position

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (AP) — Former Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry is among three finalists to be the next president of Georgetown College.

Newberry is currently vice president and general counsel of the central Kentucky school.

Search committee Chairman William J. Houston announced the finalists Tuesday. The others are Cheryl Kimberling, president, Multicultural Alliance, Fort Worth, Texas; and Jason Rogers, vice president for administration and university counsel, Belmont University, Nashville, Tenn.

William H. Crouch Jr. announced last fall he would retire this summer after leading the school since 1992.

The candidates will meet on campus in the next week with trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, students and members of the community.
