Newsmakers: Awards for TRWD

Two Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) departments recently received national awards of excellence in their respective fields.

The accounting department was awarded the Certificate of Achievement of Excellence in Financial Reporting for fiscal year 2017 by the Government Finance Officers Association. This is the third straight year that TRWD has received this certificate, which is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and represents a significant accomplishment by a government agency and its management.

In July, TRWD’s purchasing department received the 2018 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute. This award recognizes organizational excellence in public and nonprofit procurement. This is second straight year the purchasing department has received this award.
