Newsmakers: Comerica promotes Kiser to FW market president

Cody D. Kiser has been named Fort Worth market president for Comerica Bank.

Kiser will succeed Donald P. Hellman on May 12. Hellman, who became Comerica’s first Fort Worth market president in 2013, will become Comerica’s credit administration officer for Texas, Arizona and Florida private banking.

As Fort Worth market president, Kiser’s responsibilities will include supporting the bank’s customer initiatives and overall business and community development efforts in Tarrant County across its business bank, retail bank and wealth management businesses. He will continue as group manager of commercial banking for Fort Worth and North Dallas.

“We’re pleased to pass the leadership torch to Cody Kiser as Comerica’s second Fort Worth market president,” said Peter Sefzik, Comerica’s Texas market president. “Since joining Comerica in 2010 as a business banking relationship manager, Cody has consistently proven himself as a leader, mentor and top performer for the company. A 12-year banking veteran, Kiser was promoted in 2016 to his current position as senior vice president and group manager of both the Tarrant County and North Dallas business banking teams.

Kiser is a member of the executive leadership board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Greater DFW and is a volunteer with Junior Achievement of the Chisolm Trail. He is also a leader in his church. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Harding University.

New CFO at Del Frisco’s

Southlake-based Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group Inc. has named Neil Thomson as chief financial officer, effective May 22.

Thomson replaces six-year veteran Tom Pennison, who has resigned.

Thomson most recently was chief growth officer of the Pizza Hut Asia Pacific region, a division of Yum! Brands Inc., where he was responsible for finance, development and supply chain functions for 4,500 restaurants and $3.5 billion in systemwide sales in 2016 across 16 countries. Previously, he was chief development officer for Pizza Hut International, where he helped develop the contemporary, fast-casual model that became one of the major growth engines for Pizza Hut. Thomson also held several positions in financial leadership within Yum! Restaurants International, including vice president of finance, chief finance officer for the Indian subcontinent, and director of financial control and field finance for KFC UK.

Thomson received a bachelor’s degree in modern history from Oxford University. He began his career pursuing a three-year audit rotation at KPMG and earned his ACA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Rodgers named chief judge

of Fort Worth Municipal Court

On the recommendation of the ad hoc Municipal Courts Committee, the Fort Worth City Council unanimously voted to appoint Acting Chief Judge James Daniel Rodgers as chief judge of the Fort Worth Municipal Court.

Rodgers is a Fort Worth native and a graduate of Eastern Hills High School, Baylor University and Baylor School of Law. He was first appointed as a Fort Worth Municipal Court judge in 1996 and served as deputy chief judge from 2012–2016 and acting chief judge from Jan. 1 until his appointment in May.

“Judge Rodgers is the perfect selection to lead the Fort Worth Municipal Court as we enter a new season,” said Municipal Court Director Theresa Ewing. “His understanding of the law, partnered with his deep passion for municipal courts, will bring energy and new ideas.”

Rodgers is a longtime member of the Breakfast Optimist Club of East Fort Worth and Christ Chapel Bible Church. He serves on the board of directors of the Texas Municipal Court Association and Education Center. He and his wife, Jill, have two children and three grandchildren.

First Command Financial Services Inc. has won the 2017 Most Valuable Employers (MVE) for Military award by RecruitMilitary, its second straight year to receive the national designation. The MVE recognition is intended to help job seekers with military experience identify the top employers to target for civilian careers. MVEs are selected annually based on those employers whose recruiting, training, and retention plans best serve military service members and veterans.

Jared Treesh has joined the Cleburne office of Grandview Bank as senior vice president. A Cleburne-area native, he most recently was senior vice president/commercial lender at Worthington Bank in Fort Worth. He previously was a commercial lender in Burleson.

Rob Wallace has joined Grandview Bank’s Cleburne office as vice president. The Cleburne native graduated from Texas Christian University and became a real estate lender at Fort Worth City Credit Union. He is a member of Vision Fort Worth.

Robert Kleinkauf has been promoted to vice president, HVAC, for Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico at MORSCO Inc.

Frank Seymour has been named president of MORSCO’s waterworks division, Fortiline Waterworks. Seymour joined Fortiline in late 2014 as vice president of sales. Fortiline was acquired by MORSCO on Oct. 31, 2016. It is the second-largest American-owned wholesale distributor of underground water, sewer and storm utility products in the United States.

Ben Cagle has been named senior vice president, operations for Fortiline.

HEALTH CARE

Gary W. Floyd, a Fort Worth pediatrician, was reelected to the Texas Medical Association board of trustees. TMA’s House of Delegates governing body reelected Floyd at the association’s annual conference in Houston. It also reelected Floyd as a Texas delegate to the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates.

Floyd has also served in other activities in organized medicine throughout his 38-year medical career. He has chaired TMA’s Council on Legislation and was a member of the Council on Constitution and Bylaws. He is a member of the Tarrant County Medical Society.

Joel T. Allison, former president/CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health, received the American Hospital Association’s Award of Honor, given in conjunction with the AHA’s annual membership meeting in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes organizations and individuals for exemplary contributions to the health and well-being of people through leadership on major health policies or social initiatives.

TECHNOLOGY

Mouser Electronics Inc. has promoted Mark Burr-Lonnon to senior vice president of global service and EMEA and APAC business. Since moving to Mouser in 2008 from its parent company, TTI, Burr-Lonnon has led Mouser’s global management team.
