IABC honors Arlington firm

as Large Agency of Year

Arlington-based communication agency PartnerComm Inc. won six International Association of Business Communicators Gold Quill Awards, including the Large Agency of the Year award, at the IABC World Conference Gold Quill Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C., on June 13. The Gold Quill Awards program recognizes business communication excellence globally and is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious awards programs in the industry.

“We started this company with the idea that we could do this better on our own,” said John Korinek, who along with his wife, Laurie, and David Lee, left one of the largest global consulting firms to start PartnerComm in 1994. “Being named Large Agency of the Year is the culmination of that idea and our dream coming true.”

PartnerComm also won Awards of Excellence in the Digital Communication and Audio/Visual categories and Awards of Merit in the Human Resources & Benefits Communication, Digital Communication and Publications categories.

Founded over 20 years ago, the company now has employees across the country and a client list that includes American Airlines, BNSF, Ericsson, Fluor, Alliance Data, Nordstrom, Cisco Systems, United Technologies, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Campbell’s and Nestlé USA.

BANKING AND FINANCE

Jason Ellis has been named president of Worthington National Bank’s downtown Fort Worth location. His focus will be on commercial lending and managing customer relationships.

Ellis graduated from Baylor University with a finance and accounting degree. He has worked for 11 years in the banking industry, specifically in commercial lending and relationship management.

Ellis is active in the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Fort Worth, Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail, Trinity Habitat for Humanity and several other community organizations in the Fort Worth area.

Christopher Doxey has joined Southwest Bank as senior vice president, senior commercial lender. Doxey most recently was senior vice president and Dallas-Fort Worth area business manager for private wealth management at Regions Bank in Dallas.

BOARDS AND ORGANIZATIONS

Gill Children’s Services has added Andrea Breedlove, TJ Hutchings and Paul Ray III to the board of directors.

Breedlove is a crisis counselor at Haltom High School in the Birdville Independent School District. She is also a volunteer for organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Junior League.

Hutchings is a vice president of employee benefits with Higginbotham. He is a volunteer with VisionFW and Cook Children’s Hospital in the pediatric cancer unit.

Ray is co-partner of Phillips Ray Capital Management. He has also served on the board of directors of The Warm Place and Casa Manana, and was co-chairman of Friday Night at the Zoo. He is active in the Exchange Club in Fort Worth.

Gill Children’s Services also announced that Karin Taylor will be shadowing the board of directors as a recent graduate of the LeadingEdge program. Taylor is an interior designer at Quorum Architects. She holds professional status with the International Interior Designers Association (IIDA) and is an IIDA Fort Worth City Center Council member.

HONORS AND AWARDS

Pool and Spa News recently revealed its Top 50 Pool Builders List for 2017. Pool construction companies considered for this include a mix of large and small, high-end and high-volume builders all across the nation. Fort Worth-based Pulliam Pools has been recognized for 15 consecutive years and was named a Top 50 Superstar for making the list since its inception.

“Pulliam is so honored to be recognized again. Our employees, subcontractors and vendors know the importance of customer service, community service and striving for excellence, and all embrace the cultural importance of that,” said Debra Smith, president of Pulliam Pools.

Fort Worth’s Central Freight Lines was awarded the first Lone Star NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle) award from the Natural Gas Vehicle Alliance. The award was presented during the NGVA’s annual From-Sea-To-Shining-Sea Road Rally Across America. Central Freight Lines was represented as the only Texas Less-Than-Truckload carrier to use CNG in its heavy-duty vehicles.

Cyndy Tonniges, company administrator of TriQuest Technologies, has been recognized as the Job Links Business of the Year by the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. The award is given to a person or business that actively participates and is a contributor, collaborator and change agent in employment-related topics. TriQuest solutions is a 2002 winner of the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year Award.

SPORTS

Sean Decker has been promoted to senior vice president of operations and events and Joe Januszewski will assume the title of executive vice president, chief revenue and marketing officer for the Texas Rangers.
