Banking & Finance HomeBanc N.A. named Brian Sheets as vice president, SBA loan specialist. He is based in Arlington and brings more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry. Philip Kendall was promoted to branch manager at Charles Schwab’s Fort Worth branch. He was previously a financial consultant at the Dallas-Park Cities branch. Kendall joined Schwab in 2009 and has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Schwab, he worked for 10 years in investment and client management roles at a large investment firm. Alyssa Delgado, Ricky Gonzales and Carl Greenfield III have joined the Northwestern Mutual office in Fort Worth as financial representatives.

Boards & Organizations Bryce Danley, a private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial in Fort Worth, was named to the 2014 Chairman’s Advisory Council. He joins other top-ranked advisers to discuss current issues and business opportunities with Ameriprise Financial Chairman and CEO James Cracchiolo and other Ameriprise Financial leaders. Attorney Jim Kennerly has been promoted to vice president for the Mount Olivet Cemetery Association. He serves as the association’s in-house legal counsel.

Education Kay-Yut Chen, -a behavioral and experimental researcher from Yahoo! and Hewlett-Packard, will join the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Business in the Information Systems and Operations Management Department in the fall. He will continue to work with Yahoo Labs and HP on research projects that will bring scientific and business values.

Honors & Awards Grapevine Police Department Patrol Officer Ryan Sayre is among the 2014 class of honorees in the National Association of Police Organization’s Top Cop program. Sayre, cited for his work in a 2013 manhunt, was among 53 officers nationwide to earn Top Cop awards at a presentation attended by President Barack Obama on May 12 in Washington, D.C. Fort Worth police officer John Bell was named Officer of the Year for 2013 and Amon G. Carter Award recipient by the Fort Worth Police Officers’ Award Foundation. In January 2013, Bell was shot multiple times by a suspect wanted for narcotics trafficking. Bell returned fire on the suspect, who subsequently died, but he lost a finger and has not regained sight in his injured eye. Bell served in the U.S. Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War and is a 31-year veteran of law enforcement. He served 10 years with the Cleburne Police Department prior to joining the FWPD. Assigned to the traffic division as a motor officer for the past nine years, he is an active member of the “Beat the Heat” program. The honor for Commander of the Year went to Capt. Michael Baldwin. Other personnel honored are: Central Northwest Command, Officer Andy Morquecho; Southeast Command, Officer Marty Stone; Specialized Units, Det. William Paine; and Supervisor of the Year, Sgt. Thomas Busker. David Marshall, director of engineering services for the Tarrant Regional Water District, will receive the Stephen D. Bechtel Pipeline Engineering Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers in August at the ASCE Pipeline Conference in Portland. Marshall is being honored for his work on the Integrated Pipeline Project currently being built by TRWD in conjunction with the city of Dallas. James F. (Jim) Reeves, chief operating officer at Whitley Penn LLP, was named CPA of the Year by the Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs. Reeves was recognized for his visionary leadership on issues facing the accounting profession, and for years of advocacy for public practitioners as a leader of Thomson Reuters’ product development team in the tax and accounting product lines. Reeves’ columns in the TSCPA print publication, Today’s CPA, and on his blog have earned a following for his analysis and insights. AZZ Galvanizing Services, a division of AZZ incorporated, led the awards for “Excellence in Hot-Dip Galvanizing,” winning five of the 14 categories presented by the American Galvanizers Association, including the Lifetime Achievement Award. Trinity Terrace continuing care retirement community earned certification in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s 2014 Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program. Trinity Terrace has been a SHARP certified facility since 2005. W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Co. was named a Certified Green Contractor by Associated Builders and Contractors. The program recognizes construction companies that implement green practices and principles in the workplace, including headquarters, branch offices and jobsite office complexes. The Critical Care Unit at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford received a silver Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. Texas Health HEB’s CCU is the only unit in Northeast Tarrant County, and one of only 18 units in Texas, that has earned this national recognition.

Nonprofit Organizations Cancer Care Services hired two senior staff members and promoted three others. Sandy Kelly is the new chief financial officer. She recently relocated from Houston at Archer Oil Tools. Kelly has worked in accounting and financial analysis for more than 20 years. Brandy Moriah Wicker is the new chief development officer and will oversee all fundraising activities. She was formerly the director of grants at SafeHaven of Tarrant County and also worked in development at the New York Philharmonic and Casa Mañana. Jane Oderberg, a nine-year veteran of Cancer Care Services, was promoted to chief program officer from program director. Tracey Willingham was promoted to director of programs and evaluation from program manager and is responsible for the client database, program evaluation and direct staff supervision. Willingham has served at Cancer Care Services for four years. Deanna Stuart was promoted to director of community outreach and events from annual giving manager and is responsible for events fundraising, marketing and outreach.

Printing Aubrey Allen is the account manager for the new downtown Fort Worth Denitech showroom. Allen has been with the company for the last two years.

Technology Maggie Fischer has joined CCRA Travel Solutions as the new vice president of marketing. Fischer brings 11 years of award-winning marketing and creative communications experience in the travel and technology industries. She most recently served as the director of marketing communications and brand for Airlines Reporting Corp. since 2006. Prior to joining ARC, she co-founded DCM Inc. and served as its principal marketing and creative leader, developing and managing campaigns for businesses within the travel, technology, nonprofit and health care industries. Consuro Managed Technology hired Kelli Petty and Eric Bishop as new account managers. Petty will be based out of Consuro’s Dallas office, and Bishop will be based out of the company’s Fort Worth headquarters and data center. Petty will be account manager for the professional services projects. Prior to joining Consuro, she was senior account manager for a regional managed service provider. Previously, she had sales and account manager roles in her decade-long tenure at Dell Inc. Bishop will be account manager for Consuro’s managed services customers. He was formerly regional account manager for Trend Micro. He also has owned his own IT security consulting company and has a long history of customer service and technical roles.

John McDonald named CMO at North Hills Hospital North Hills Hospital appointed Dr. John E. McDonald its new chief medical officer. McDonald currently serves as the chairman of the hospital’s board of trustees. He also has served as vice chairman and as secretary, vice chief of staff and chief of staff for the Medical Executive Committee. McDonald received a biology degree from Texas Christian University and later graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He completed residences at Kansas University Medical Center; St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.; and the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center. He recently completed a master’s degree in health care management at the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas. McDonald has been licensed by the Texas Medical Board since 1983. He is certified in anatomical and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology, in blood banking and transfusion medicine by the American Board of Pathology, in cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology, in medical staff leadership by the Greeley Medical Staff Institute, and medical quality by the American Board of Medical Quality. McDonald is a member in numerous professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society, and the American College of Medical Quality.
