Northern Crain Realty Partners Split Over Woodhaven Development Deal

Michael Crain, co-founder of Northern Crain Realty and a Fort Worth City Council member, has filed a lawsuit against his business partner Will Northern, alleging he was excluded from a major land deal involving the Woodhaven Country Club property.

Crain claims Northern secretly formed a separate company, Crescendo Development, to acquire more than 160 acres in east Fort Worth, including the former golf course, in a May foreclosure auction for $8.5 million. Crain says he originally brought the project to their firm.

“This was not just a business dispute — it was a personal betrayal,” Crain said.

Despite the legal action, Crain said he remains committed to positive, inclusive redevelopment in the Woodhaven area. He is seeking more than $1 million in damages.
