It’s time to cowboy up with Riscky’s BBQ Rib-eating Contest.

July 22 is the National Day of the American Cowboy and will be celebrated in Fort Worth’s Stockyards with a National day of the American Cowboy parade and the 11th Annual BBQ Rib-eating Contest.

The news release said that the parade will start at 11:45 a.m. and the rib-eating contest will begin at 12:30 p.m. The contest is free to participate in and will challenge 20 BBQ enthusiasts to see how many Riscky’s beef ribs they can eat in 60 seconds.

The news release said that the top qualifiers will go “head-to-head” and compete for a grand prize (valued at $500), a second place prize (valued at $250) and a third place prize (valued at $100).

According to the news release, the National Day of the American Cowboy was voted by American Cowboy Magazine the “Best Cowboy Tribute Event” in the U.S. The news release said that the event welcomes over 10,000 visitors annually and celebrates the heritage and history of the American Cowboy.

For those not looking to compete, Riscky’s has other Fort Worth locations at Sundance Square (300 Main Street) and West Side (6701 Camp Bowie Blvd).
