PlayTri is hosting its ninth annual Hot Hatch Chile Run, Walk and Roll 10k and 5k on Saturday, Aug. 26. The race will begin at the Southlake Central Market located at 1425 E. Southlake Blvd.
The race schedule is as follows:
6 a.m. – Registration & Packet Pickup
7:30 a.m. – 1 Mile run/walk/roll
8 a.m. – 10k Handcycle start
8:01 a.m. – 10k Run/Walk
8:10 a.m. – 5k Handcycle start
8:11 a.m. – 5k Run/Walk
The course officially closes at 11 a.m. for all participants. Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed for this event.
Awards will be given out at the end of the race as follows:
— For the Handcycle 10k and 5k, awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall finishers.
— For the Run/Walk 10k and 5k, awards will be given to the Overall, Masters, and Grandmasters for both male and female. Additionally, custom medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age group, which are separated by five-year increments.
All race participants will receive a T-shirt and a finisher medal. Additionally, race-themed Dog Bandanas will be available for purchase for $15. There will also be a post-race photo booth available.
Proceeds from the Hot Hatch Chile Run, Walk & Roll will benefit the Neuro Assistance Foundation, which assists spinal cord injured and disabled people in the local community by providing mobility equipment, vehicle modifications, home modifications and more.
