Penn Station to open 15 D-FW restaurants

Fast casual restaurant chain Penn Station East Coast Subs has signed an agreement to develop 15 locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. PS DFW LLC, owned by a group of partners led by David Sherzer and Dave Coussirat, plans to open at least three restaurants this year, with rapid growth planned thereafter. The initial locations will be in Flower Mound, Southlake and Plano.

“The Metroplex is a great place to start a new business. Companies from all over the country in a variety of businesses are moving here, and bringing thousands of jobs with them. The services industry, including restaurants, grows alongside the overall economy and population growth. We are thrilled to be a part of it,” said Sherzer. Sherzer is a former press official for President George W. Bush, and Coussirat is a food franchise veteran who served as director of operations for concepts such as Jamba Juice, Taco Bell and, most recently, Freebirds World Burrito. Originally founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1985, Penn Station serves hot and cold subs, fresh-cut fries, fresh-squeezed lemonade and chocolate chunk cookies based fresh daily. The company has 270 restaurants in 13 states. All but one location is franchised. Projections call for the opening of 30 restaurants nationwide in 2014.
