People: Camp Fire reorganizes leadership, appoints 3 to new positions

Camp Fire First Texas, a 101-year-old youth development organization headquartered in Fort Worth, has reorganized its leadership team and re-aligned council responsibilities.

Ann Sheets, who was appointed president/CEO in July after being with the council for 38 years, aligned the new leadership positions with the council’s main assets: fiscal and human assets, fixed assets, and intellectual and social assets.

“After many conversations with senior staff, the CEO search committee and our board leadership, I am confident in these decisions about the leadership design for the council. I believe these new positions will help us continue the long tradition of excellence for which this council has been known,” Sheets said.

Linda Ramoz, the vice president for finance since March 2012, will be chief financial officer. Ramoz will be responsible for all finance, accounting and human resources in the council. She will also work closely with the Camp Fire First Texas Foundation, which manages all council investments. Ramoz has more than 20 years of experience in general accounting, financial and operational analysis and project management.

Lisa Cook, who has spent more than 10 years as vice president of outdoor programs, will now be chief facilities and technology officer. She is responsible for all of Camp Fire’s facilities, equipment, technology, rentals and risk management. She also continues to oversee the capital improvements at the 223-acre Camp El Tesoro near Granbury. Cook is a member of the American Camp Association and has served as a board member for the Rocky Mountain Watersheds Volunteer Monitoring Network and the Colorado Watershed Network.

Lyn Lucas, who joined Camp Fire in July 2010 as vice president of the work/family division, has been appointed chief program officer. Lucas will oversee all child and youth development programs, including early childhood, group services and outdoor programs. Lucas is on the board of the Texas Youth and Child Care Worker Association and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

The council also has renamed two departments to better reflect the purpose of each division. Work/Family has been renamed Early Childhood Education, and Group Services has been renamed Youth Development. The Outdoor Division retains its original name.



New hires at PAVLOV are Brenna Jefferies, Jordan Goss and Morgan Godby. Jefferies, who interned in the agency’s public relations department, joins as a public relations and social media coordinator. Previously, she worked at BBDO in Dallas as account coordinator. Goss joins PAVLOV as a junior account executive, providing account service and project management for clients including the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, Shooting Star Casino and Uvalle Law. Godby, a former junior graphic designer at D Magazine in Dallas, joins as an art director.


Lee Ann Anderson joined Southwest Bank as senior vice president-senior trust administrator, bringing more than 35 years of banking and trust experience to her new position. Previously, Anderson served more than 13 years as vice president and senior trust officer at BBVA Compass Bank and TexasBank. She also was vice president and trust officer for Bank One and managed the San Juan Basin Royalty Trust for 30 years. She is a Cannon Financial Institute certified wealth strategist and serves on the board for Historic Fort Worth Inc.


The Allied Pilots Association elected First Officer Timothy Hamel as interim vice president, succeeding First Officer Neil Roghair, who resigned effective Dec. 1. Hamel has flown for American Airlines for 24 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force and has been chairman of the APA Scope Committee since 2009. His term runs through June 30.

Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Rick Huber and John Henry Luton, both of Granbury, to the Brazos River Authority board. Huber is a retired American Airlines captain and also served in the Air Force. He is a member of the Fort Worth Air Power Council and the Grey Eagles, is chairman of the Hood County Appraisal Review Board, and is a board member of the Granbury Regional Airport Advisory Board, Leadership Granbury and Lakeside Baptist Academy. He is vice president of Mesa Grande Water Supply Corp. and was named Leadership Granbury Board Member of the Year for 2014-2015. Luton is chairman of First National Bank of Granbury. He also served in the Air Force and is member of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He has served on the boards of the Brazos Valley Soil and Water Conservation District and the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District.


Ridgemont Commercial Construction hired Rich Piersee as director of senior living and Damon Norman as director of office and industrial. Piersee has more than 25 years of experience in construction management and operations, with an emphasis on assisted living and memory care facilities. Norman has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, managing projects from conception to completion.


Heidi Bruegel Cox, executive vice president and general counsel to the Gladney Center for Adoption, has been inducted into the National Council for Adoption’s Adoption Hall of Fame. Cox serves on the NCFA board.

Winners of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Big Time Texas Hunts from Tarrant County include Virgil Wilson, Texas Grand Slam, and Christopher Howard and Brent Sorrells, Whitetail Bonanza.

The Texas Social Media Research Institute recognized the Fort Worth, Keller, Godley, Granbury and Lewisville independent school districts as the top five effective schools districts in Texas using Twitter.

EST Group has been named Dell PartnerDirect South Central Partner of the Year for 2015. The annual awards honor Dell partners for delivering exemplary solutions for their customers.

The American Ambulance Association presented MedStar Mobile Healthcare with the 2015 AMBY Award for its commitment to excellence in the ambulance industry and its willingness to share its best practices with peers.


ECi Software Solutions appointed John Maiuri is president of its LBMH Division. He will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the LBMH software products and technology. A 30-year industry veteran, he began his career as the yard foreman for a construction supplier in Catskill, New York He later was director of purchasing and general manager before taking over the reins as president in 1994. In 2008, he ventured into technology sales when he joined Spruce Computer Systems as the northeast regional territory manager, then became vice president of marketing and business development and later vice president of sales. He joined ECi 10 months ago when it acquired Spruce.

Tom Kapp, ECi’s executive vice president in charge of supplier relations, will retire Dec. 31 after 40 years in the office products industry, the last 16 of them at ECi. During his tenure at ECi he also has been managing director of the international group. Kapp is on the board for the Business Solutions Association and assists the office products industry in its efforts to support the City of Hope Cancer Research Hospital. He also served on the board for Lutheran Family and Children’s Services and chaired its annual fundraising campaign.
