Texas Motor Speedway’s “Speeding To Help” house-building event at Trinity Habitat For Humanity in Fort Worth has been postponed due to rain.

A rescheduled date has yet to be determined for an event originally scheduled to occur on Thursday July 17, according to Texas Motor Speedway officials.

The seventh annual community outreach initiative kicked off earlier this month with a visit to The Salvation Army’s Pleasant Grove Community Center to refurbish the children’s playground and the surrounding area of their sports complex.

“Speeding To Help” assists community outreach organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Each week features a different activity.

While rain postponed the July 17 Trinity Habitat for Humanity event, plans remain on track to assist Catholic Charities Fort Worth on Monday July 21 for a “play date” with more than 30 refugee children from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. This year’s program concludes on Tuesday July 29 when volunteers will paint the interior of a home used as a safe shelter for Denton County Friends of the Family.
