It’s almost time for the annual food and charity event known as DFW Restaurant Week. The festivities get underway with Preview Weekend Aug. 1-4, followed by the “Main Week” running Aug. 5-11 (the “optional extension” period lasts until Sept. 1).

This year marks the 28th anniversary of DFW Restaurant Week, which organizers say is North Texas’ largest annual culinary event and the second longest-running restaurant week in the United States behind New York City.

Participating restaurants will offer three-course prix fixe dinners for $49 or $59, with some offering two-course lunch or brunch menus for $29. For each meal purchased at a participating Tarrant-area restaurant, 20% will be donated to Fort Worth-based nonprofit Lena Pope. Proceeds from participating Dallas restaurants benefit Plano-based North Texas Food Bank.

Lena Pope, which provides evidence-based and research-tested counseling, education and behavior intervention programs to local children and families, has been the Tarrant County beneficiary of DFW Restaurant Week since 1998. More than $3 million has been raised from the proceeds of participating Tarrant County restaurants over the past 26 years, organizers said in a news release. Last year’s event raised a total of $545,128 with $184,925 benefitting Lena Pope.

“The support Lena Pope receives during DFW Restaurant Week, from our community and from the amazing restaurants, is a vital part of our ability to provide accessible and affordable programs,” said Ashley Elgin, CEO of Lena Pope. “Make your reservations to dine out this August at any of the 39 participating Tarrant Area restaurants and relish the unique opportunity to help children and families thrive while enjoying a delicious meal.”

A rundown of participating restaurants and available menus can be found on Lena Pope’s restaurant week webpage.

Reservations for 2024 DFW Restaurant Week are being accepted now via OpenTable or by calling the restaurants.
