Golden Tree Restaurants LLC, a Richardson-based restaurant investment group, on Feb. 19 announced it has acquired Fireside Pies, an artisan pizzeria with locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Grapevine, and Plano. As part of the acquisition, Golden Tree also announced it has named Henry Leonard the new president of Fireside Pies.
“I am extremely excited to welcome Fireside Pies to our family at Golden Tree Restaurants,” said Mark Parmerlee, president of Golden Tree Restaurants LLC. “This brand has consistently been about great food and excellent service and we are excited for the opportunity to take Fireside Pies to the next level.”
Founded in 2004, the collection of intimate North Texas neighborhood restaurants are known for and will continue to serve wood-fired pizza, scratch made pasta and salad, alongside its signature cocktails and extensive wine collection.
Under Golden Tree Restaurants’ leadership, Fireside Pies will work to streamline its already-popular menu and will soon introduce lunch service at each location. The brand also has plans to expand its footprint across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, keeping its primary focus on community and customer service.

In addition to Leonard’s appointment, Golden Tree Restaurants has also named Chris Mitchell Fireside Pies’ chief operating officer. Mitchell is responsible for efficiently running the company’s daily operations, including managing the existing locations and planning for future growth and expansion. Golden Tree also announced that Joe Bozarth will remain with Fireside Pies as the company’s director of operations. Bozarth has been with the brand for more than ten years.
Headquartered in Richardson, Golden Tree Restaurants LLC has ownership in restaurant brands across the south including Golden Chick, Heff’s Burgers, JC’s Burger House, Jalapeno Tree and Texadelphia. Fireside Pies joins the investment group’s portfolio as the only gourmet pizza concept.
