HOUSTON (AP) — The president and publisher of the San Antonio Express-News next week will assume the same roles with another Hearst publication, the Houston Chronicle.
Hearst announced Wednesday that John McKeon will begin in Houston on Monday after leading Express-News operations since 2012.
McKeon will be replaced in San Antonio by Susan Pape, who will take the title of chief operating officer. Pape for more than a decade has held various leadership positions with the Express-News. She will continue as chief financial officer for both the Express-News and Chronicle.
McKeon will oversee collaborative efforts among Hearst’s Texas properties, which include papers in Beaumont, Laredo and elsewhere.
He was president of The Dallas Morning News from 2007 to 2012 and earlier held leadership roles at Newsday and the Los Angeles Times.
