The U.S. Small Business Administration announced Tuesday, Feb. 20, the launch of the 2018 Emerging Leaders executive education program, which is designed specifically for small business owners who want to grow their businesses.
A news release said the SBA Dallas/Fort Worth District Office is currently recruiting local business leaders for the 2018 training cycle. Classes are scheduled to begin this spring in Dallas and those interested are invited to register online.
“This is a great opportunity for local small business to take advantage of and learn strategies on how to increase their sales and profits. Most importantly, this training is provided at no cost to the participants” Herbert Austin, SBA’s Dallas-Fort Worth district director, said in the release.
SBA will select 20 small business owners to participate in the seven month program. This is the 10th year of the SBA Emerging Leaders Program in DFW.
SBA’s Emerging Leaders initiative provides free entrepreneurship education and training for executives of small, companies that are trying to grow and create jobs. The series will include nearly 100 hours of classroom and CEO mentoring group time, in addition to providing opportunities for small business owners to work with coaches and mentors, attend workshops and develop connections with their peers, local leaders and the financial community.
The release stated that since it’s 2008 creation, SBA’s Emerging Leaders Initiative has trained more than 5,000 SBOs, creating over 6,500 jobs, generating over $300 million in new financing, and securing over $3.16 billion in government contracts.
