Sears to lay off 55 in Fort Worth

Sears has announced it is laying off 55 employees at its service center at 5001 N. Beach St. in Fort Worth. The layoffs are expected to be permanent, according to the WARN letter sent to the Texas Employment Commission. The letter says the layoffs will start at the end of June. Like many brick-and-mortar retailers, Hoffman Estates, Ill-based Sears Holding Corp. has been working to return to profitability.
