SLT presents: Irish Bread Shop

“Fresh-from-the-oven Irish bread with homemade butter? Yes, please!”

“Learn essential techniques for mixing, kneading and rolling two types of dough, one with yeast and one without,” the website reads. “Plus, you’ll practice shaping, baking and icing hot cross buns. Yum!”

Sur La Table’s Irish Bread Shop baking class will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, April 1. The class cost is $75 per person.

The menu for the afternoon will include:

— Irish Soda Bread with Cheddar Cheese and Kalamata Olives

— Cardamom and Currants Hot Cross Buns

— Homemade Sweet Butter

Class recipes are used with permission from The Hot Bread Kitchen Cookbook: Artisanal Baking from Around the World by Jessamyn Waldman Rodriguez and the bakers of Hot Bread Kitchen with Julia Turshen.

Students will receive a coupon for 10 percent off in-store purchases the day of class.
