ENTPRENREURSHIP = ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Sparkyard, in collaboration with HSC Next, fosters a vibrant and connected entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Fort Worth area. As the sole resource reporting on metrics that highlight the critical role of entrepreneurs, Sparkyard emphasizes its value as a powerful yet underutilized driver of economic development. The first jobs report was released in November 2020, featuring data from 2018. This report provides an update using the most recent data from 2022. There is a two-year data lag for this data set.
Companies up to one year old created over 27,000 new jobs in Tarrant County in 2022. New job creation reflects a transition from the Covid-19 pandemic to a strong economic recovery witnessed locally and nationally. The number of jobs created in 2022 has nearly reached pre-pandemic levels. The updated data shows that one year old or less firms created about 1,256 fewer new jobs in 2022 than in 2021. In this year’s report, the 2021 data was revised upwards from 23,872 to 28,277, a correction of over 3,500 jobs. 2022 data is likely to be revised in next year’s report.
