Tandy Leather Factory CFO named president of local financial executives chapter

Shannon Greene, chief financial officer and treasurer of Fort Worth-based Tandy Leather Factory Inc., has been named president of the Fort Worth chapter of Financial Executives International for 2014-2015.

“We are extremely proud of Shannon for being recognized for her dedication and achievements as a leading CFO by Financial Executives International,” said CEO Jon Thompson in a news release.

“Her enthusiasm and commitment to excellence will be of great benefit to the Fort Worth organization,” Thompson said.

Greene joined Fort Worth-based Tandy Leather in 1997 as assistant controller before serving as controller until accepting the CFO position in 2000. She is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Corporate Leadership Advisory Council and is a member of the SEC’s Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies. She also serves on the Texas Society of CPA’s Professional Standards Committee and serves on the board of The Women’s Center, a non-profit organization in Fort Worth. Greene was selected as CFO of the Year in January 2014 by the Fort Worth Business Press.

Tandy Leather Factory Inc. sells and distributes leather, leatherworking tools, do-it-yourself-kits and many other products.
