Tandy Leather Factory Inc. has opened a new retail store in Johnston, Rhode Island.
Operating under the name Tandy Leather and officially open on Monday Dec. 19, the store is located at 1386 Atwood Ave., Johnson, RI 02919
The new location sees the Fort Worth-based firm move forward with store expansion plans despite what CEO Shannon Greene called a challenging retail environment.
“This store is our first in Rhode Island and the third store opened this quarter. We are excited to further develop our Rhode Island customer base by establishing a local presence from which we can share our passion for leathercraft,” Greene said.
Tandy Leather Factory Inc. sells and distributes leather, leather-working tools, do-it-yourself-kits and many other products. Its products are distributed through its 27 Leather Factory stores, located in 18 states and three Canadian provinces; 83 Tandy Leather retail stores, located in 37 states and six Canadian provinces; and four combination wholesale-retail stores in the United Kingdom, Australia and Spain.
