Tandy Leather Factory reports September sales drop

Tandy Leather Factory Inc. of Fort Worth has reported September sales of $6.1 million, down 5 percent compared to $6.5 million in the same month last year.

“This continues to be a challenging environment with lower sales volumes and store traffic than what we’d like to see this time of year,” said CEO Shannon L. Greene, commenting in a news release.

“However, as we head into the fourth quarter, we expect to open several new stores in markets that we believe will help us gain market share and contribute positively to our top line over time,” Greene said.

The company’s Retail Leathercraft division saw sales drop 3 percent to $4 million compared to $4.1 million in the same month last year.
