Additional Details: With Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price as Lead Rider, children and their friends, families and associates are invited to participate in a non-competitive ride/walk of up to 5 miles. Spectators can cheer on their favorite team in the Ride for Kids Relay Race. Children, as individuals and as teams, are raising funds from individual and group sponsors to benefit the Tarrant Area Food Bank. The Ride for Kids goal is to raise $250,000. PRIZES for top fundraisers and teams will be 10 new bicycles donated to children in schools where Tarrant Area Food Banks provides meals for children. The winners will get to present the bikes at the schools. TO SIGN UP an individual child or team, OR TO SPONSOR an individual rider or team, or to create personal fundraising pages to collect donations from friends and family, go to http://www.tafb.org/. Also, now through Nov. 24, tweet or re-tweet #GearUp4Kids on Twitter and a sponsor will donate $1 for each one up to $5,000 for our Food for Kids programs. For more info, please call (817)-332-9177. Youth rider registration is $15 before November 5, $20 after that date and $25 the day of the ride. Adult rider registration is $25 before Nov 5, $30 after that date and $35 on the event day. The minimum sponsorship donation is $25. Prices include event registration and a t-shirt.
