Trinity River Distillery will kick off its first-ever cornhole tournament this Saturday July 29. The tournament will be have eight weeks of qualifying rounds with 32 teams per each round and the winning teams will compete for the championship September 23.
“We are thrilled with the chance to establish a new Cowtown tradition,” said the CEO and president of Trinity River Distillery, Thomas Neely, in a news release. “Trinity River Distillery is a fantastic location for cornhole competitors from across Dallas-Fort Worth to gather and show us what they’ve got. Handcrafted cocktails and tasty food every Saturday will make tournament weekends an unforgettable experience, whether you’re watching or competing!”
Each team of two will need to sign up in-person before 2 p.m. at Trinity River Distillery on the event day. There will be a $10 buy-in to reserve the team’s spot and 100 percent of the fee will be donated to charity. The news release says that in each round the winning team will get $200. The final tournament will have a grand prize of $2,000 and will be a head-to-head, single-elimination tournament.
