A free Hiring Our Heroes Hiring Expo for veterans, active-duty service members, members of the Guard and Reserve, and their spouses will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at Arlington’s Globe Life Park.
While the hiring expo itself is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the day will begin with a personal branding workshop from 9:30-10:45 a.m. where job seekers can work on their resume and interview techniques and skills. A financial readiness workshop will also be offered during the same time slot.
Dozens of local and national companies will take part in the Hiring Our Heroes Expo, which caters to the more than 385,000 veterans in the metroplex.
In addition to the opportunity to find job placement, all registered veterans and military spouses will be eligible to receive up to two free tickets to attend the Sept. 12 MLB game between the Texas Rangers and the Seattle Mariners, until such tickets have all been given out.
According to a news release, this event is sponsored by Capital One, FedEx, La Quinta Inn & Suites, Nestle, Toyota and the Texas Rangers. Additionally, the hiring expo is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Ft. Worth Chamber of Commerce, Texas Employment Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Texas Veterans Commission, Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Leadership Program, the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, Goodwill Industries International, NBC News, and other local partners.
