Jordan Steffan, director of Sales for the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC), has earned a Certified Venue Professional (CVP) credential from the International Association of Venue Managers. The CVP recognizes expertise of middle to senior level managers of public assembly venues.
WRMC is a 120-acre event complex owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by its Public Events Department, which also manages the Fort Worth Convention Center and Office of Outdoor Events.
“No matter how long we’ve been in the event business, it’s constantly evolving,” said Steffan. “These credentials allow us to deepen our knowledge, refine our skills, and stay current on best practices that elevate our clients’ experiences at our venue.”
CVP applicants are rated on their experience and accomplishments in public venue management and must successfully complete a comprehensive written examination that tests general knowledge of the public venue management profession.
“Jordan is the fifth Public Events team member to earn their CVP. She consistently strives for excellence in her role and with her team,” said Allison McNamara, interim general manager of WRMC. “Her leadership goes beyond sales and marketing. She improves processes in communications, finances and operations as well.”
A member of the Public Events executive team, Steffan also recently completed a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project offered through the City of Fort Worth. Her analysis improved the billing process at WRMC by decreasing the time to deliver final invoices to clients, thus reducing delays in receiving revenue. WRMC generates more than $10 million in event revenue annually.
Steffan has been with the City of Fort Worth Public Events Department for six years and supervises two sales managers, four event coordinators and an office assistant for a variety of clients who book shows at WRMC, including major equestrian shows, sporting events and competitions, music and comedy performances, conferences and consumer trade shows.
