WinCo Foods on the menu for Fort Worth, McKinney

Fort Worth and McKinney shoppers can browse new aisles on Thursday Feb. 6 when WinCo Foods opens its first discount supermarkets in Texas.

The Fort Worth and McKinney stores, at 8000 Crowley Lane and 1800 N. Graves St., respectively, open at 8 a.m.

Each store spans about 95,000 square feet and features hundreds of private label products from the Boise, Idaho-based company. The Fort Worth store initially will employ about 180 individuals, 170 of which have been hired locally, with the McKinney store opening with about 170 employees, 160 hired locally, according to a company news release.

Serving as Fort Worth store manager is Casey Ray, who transferred from the company’s Roy, Utah store and has been with WinCo for 13 years. Named store manager of the McKinney location is Hollie Keller, transferring from the company’s store in Kent, Wash. She has been with WinCo 25 years.

Founded in 1967, WinCo Foods LLC operates as a regional discount supermarket company currently employing nearly 15,000 individuals and operating 93 stores and four distribution centers in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington. More information is available at
