Witherspoon takes new digs on W. Freeway

lgraham@bizpress.net Witherspoon Marketing Communications has moved offices, vacating its former Weatherford Street space for new digs at 1200 W. Freeway.

“We have the entire floor here and that gives us room to add a few folks as we are planning to do,” said president and CEO Mike Wilie, whose second-floor, 3,600-square-foot office offers about the same square footage but more contiguous work area for the 10-person staff than at its former 1000 W. Weatherford St. Witherspoon had occupied the previous location for 30 years.

Marketing the Weatherford Street building for current owner 1000 Weatherford LP is Grant Huff, an agent-broker with Transwestern in Fort Worth. “The building is for sale only, but the current tenant [CH4 Energy] would consider leasing back a portion of the building in the event of a sale,” Huff said.

Not only is Witherspoon’s former office on the market, but the entire 15,634-square-foot building is for sale. The asking price is $3.1 million for the 3-story structure built in 1984.  Until pulling out last year, Lucien Wright Insurance Services occupied Witherspoon’s new West Freeway location. Handling lease negotiations for the new space was Dana Quisenbury with Trinity Partners. The five-year lease began Aug. 1, 2013 and has three, one-year options. Financial terms were not disclosed.
