Worthy Award winners announced

The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce marketing team earned the top honor May 29 at the third annual Worthy Awards Gala in Fort Worth. The event, hosted by the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, celebrates the best in strategic communications campaigns, programs and tactics practiced by professionals and students in the Fort Worth area.

The chamber marketing team took home Best of Show for the print collateral produced for the organization’s annual meeting. The team also won three other awards.

“The Chamber does good work on tight budgets only because of the support of our talented members,” said Andra Bennett House, senior director of communications for the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.

“Many agencies, PR consultants, printers and photographers / videographers have donated or discounted their time and creativity to our programs. “For these winning projects, special thanks to Balcom, Pavlov, Cooksey Communications, Red Productions, Four Color Press and Cockrell Enovation for helping the Chamber advance the mission of making Fort Worth an excellent place to live, work and do business. “A business doesn’t need to go outside of the Fort Worth area when looking for public relations or creative work. The powerhouse agencies and PR practitioners in our city are first-rate, evidenced by the excellent work showcased in the Worthy Awards,” she said. Walter Dansby, superintendent of the Fort Worth Independent School District, was named Communicator of the Year. Overall, the Fort Worth PRSA chapter handed out 11 Worthy Awards, seven Awards of Excellence and 10 Awards of Achievement. J.O., a marketing and public relations agency, won four awards, while the Fort Worth ISD Communications Department received three awards.
