Zoe’s Kitchen Inc. has announced the resignation of Jason Morgan, chief financial officer and senior vice president, effective June 18, 2015.
Morgan resigned to pursue other business interests, according to the Plano-based company, already seeking a successor.
“On behalf of our entire team, I want to thank Jason for his commitment and contribution to Zoës Kitchen,” said president and CEO Kevin Miles in a news release.
Miles credited Morgan for playing a “vital role” in company growth, including its 2014 initial public offering.
“He leaves us with a stable foundation to continue to capitalize on our long-term growth opportunity and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” Miles said.
James Besch, the company’s controller, will serve as principal financial officer as the firm considers CFO candidates. Besch has served as controller since January 2013 and vice president of accounting since April 2014.
No disagreement with the company’s board of directors, audit committee or auditors led to his departure, according to a news release.
