On Tuesday, April 8, at 9 a.m., the City of Fort Worth will formally celebrate the groundbreaking of the Fort Worth Police Department’s (FWPD) new Northwest Patrol Division Facility, located at 3900 Angle Ave.
Personnel who will be housed at the new facility include FWPD Northwest Division Patrol Officers, Neighborhood Police Officers, Detectives, Code Blue, Bike Unit and Division Administration.
The new facility will consolidate operations from an existing City-owned facility and a leased facility into one location. The consolidated facility will enhance FWPD’s operational ability to serve the Northwest Division community by increasing efficiency and communication. Construction will begin in April with a projected completion date in spring 2026.
Groundbreaking ceremony speakers include Mayor Mattie Parker, City Councilmembers Carlos Flores and Macy Hill, City Manager Jay Chapa, Assistant City Manager William Johnson, Chief of Police Neil Noakes, Assistant Chief of Police Robert Alldredge, Northwest Division Commander Randy Molina and other City officials.
FWPD Patrol Operations plays a critical role in both crime prevention and responding to calls for service. The purpose of the new 31,710-square-foot facility is to:
- Serve as the Northwest Division patrol headquarters and house the Northwest Division commander, lieutenants, sergeants, detectives, officers and civilian staff.
- Provide a centralized police facility for the Northwest Division community.
- Enhance community partnerships by serving as the command center for new and active Citizens on Patrol members, providing a community meeting space and improving accessibility.
- The $25.6 million project was approved for funding in the 2022 Bond Program, with additional funds provided by the Crime Control and Prevention District.
- On Sept. 12, 2023, City Council approved a design-build contract with FPI Builders LLC to design and construct the facility.
- Architect/engineer is GFF Inc. and construction contractor is FPI Builders LLC.
