Arlington’s Maren Morris among Texas State Fair concert headliners

With 116 days to the 2017 State Fair of Texas, they’ve announced the free concert lineup for the Chevrolet Main Stage.

This year’s State Fair is themed “Celebrating Texans” and will be open Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 22.

The fair will present free music daily, featuring bands and acts across all genres. Throughout the fair grounds are multiple stages which will feature everyone from major headliners to more regionally known talent.

Arlington-raised country music star Maren Morris will be the opening night headliner at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 on the Chevrolet Main Stage. Morris released her major-label studio album in 2016 and was later dubbed the New Artist of the Year at the 2016 Country Music Awards, soon after receiving a Grammy Award for her debut single “My Church.” Morris has been known for her writing and performing since she was a young girl, and has been associated as a songwriter with names like Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson.

Other Chevrolet Main Stage headliners include:

-Flo Rida with Macy Kate at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30

-La Mafia at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1

-Ro James at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7

-Wilson Phillips at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8

-Charlie Daniels Band at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15

-For King and Country at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21

-Los Traileros Del Norte at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22

Headliners for Oct. 5, 6, 9, 13, 14 and 20 will be announced in July and regional acts for the main stage will be announced later in the summer.

Other stages across the fair include:

-The Cotton Bowl Plaza Stage, featuring country to Tejano performances from Coffey Anderson, the Tejas Brothers, Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band, and Vince Vance & the Valiants.

-Midway Stage, featuring Vocal Trash who will be performing daily.

-The Dr Pepper Stage, featuring eclectic performances from Kadie Lynn Roberson, Kevin Bailey Band, Blane Howard, and Maggie Baugh.
