Performing Arts Fort Worth welcomes the national tour of the Tony- and Grammy-winning musical Beautiful – The Carole King Musical to Fort Worth’s Bass Performance Hall from Sept. 12-17. Tickets are currently on sale for $50-$148.50.
Before Carole King was a “chart-topping music legend,” she was Brooklyn-native Carol Klein, who fought her way into the music business as a teenager. By her 20s, Carole “had the husband of her dreams and a flourishing career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock ‘n’ roll.”
Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of King’s rise to stardom.
Beautiful also features an array of songs written by Carole King and her husband, and Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, including “I Feel The Earth Move,” “One Fine Day” and “A Natural Woman.”
Cast members include Sarah Bockel (Carole King), Andrew Brewer (Gerry Goffin), Sarah Goeke (Cynthia Weil), Jacob Heimer (Barry Mann), James Clow and Suzanne Grodner.
According to a news release, Beautiful opened on Broadway in 2014 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, where it has since broken all box office records and recently became the highest-grossing production in the theatre’s history.
Beautiful launched its first national tour in September 2015, and is also currently playing internationally, with productions in Japan, Australia and touring the UK.
The creative team of Beautiful includes Derek McLane (Set Design), Alejo Vietti (Costume Design), Peter Kaczorowski (Lighting Design), Brian Ronan (Sound Design), Charles G. LaPointe (Wig and Hair Design), Steve Sidwell (Orchestrations and Music Arrangements), Jason Howland (Music Supervision) and John Miller (Music Coordination).
