Wednesday 6/18 The American Advertising Federation of Fort Worth will host its June luncheon from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Joe T. Garcia’s La Puertita located at 2201 N. Commerce St. in Fort Worth. Nikki Arnell from Arkansas State University’s Graphic Design Department will be guest speaker. Arnell will show and discuss examples of successful guerrilla marketing in regards to how audience, strategy and placement are affected. Thursday 6/19 TCU Press will host a The Brothers Hogan: A Fort Worth History book signing from 1-4 p.m. at Barnes & Noble located at 4801 Overton Ridge Blvd. in Fort Worth. Jacqueline Hogan Towery, her late husband Robert and Peter Barbour’s novel is a family memoir about brothers and golf legends Ben and Royal Hogan. The book contains never-before-seen family photographs and chronicles the rise of modern Fort Worth. Towery, the daughter of top amateur golfer Royal Hogan and niece of Ben Hogan, narrates the book. Friday 6/20 The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce will host a Leaders in Business Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Petroleum Club located at 777 Main St. in Fort Worth. Guest speaker is Orlando Carvalho, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Corp. – Aeronautics. Carvalho will provide news on Lockheed including the impact of sequestration, Lockheed’s foreign customers and aerospace jobs available in Fort Worth. Saturday 6/21 SCORE Fort Worth will host a Business Planning seminar from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center located at 1150 South Freeway. StratPad Founder Alex Glassey will present how to create an effective business plan and cash flow projections. The cost to attend is $99 and includes a one-year subscription to StratPad. Wednesday 6/25 The American Institute for Architects Fort Worth will host a BIM panel discussion (Building Information Modeling) at 6 p.m. at the Center for Architecture located at 3425 W. Seventh St. in Fort Worth. A social gathering will begin at 5:30 p.m. The program panel will include a group from small firms who have made the BIM transition and what it has meant. The Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth will host a Transportation Infrastructure Breakfast from 7:30-9 a.m. at Colonial Country Club located at 3735 Country Club Circle in Fort Worth. Speakers include Kenneth Barr of Barr Consulting and former mayor of Fort Worth, Robert Hinkle of NTE Mobility Partners, Mark Rauscher from the city of Fort Worth, and Brian Barth of the Texas Department of Transportation. Saturday 6/28 The YWCA will host a Family Community Services Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sycamore Community Center located at 2525 E. Rosedale St. Twenty vendors will showcase services available to assist residents in their daily lives in the Polytechnic and Eastwood communities. Monday 6/30 The YWCA will host a Financial Coaching Clinic at 6:30 p.m. at the historic YWCA located at 512 W. Fourth St. in downtown Fort Worth. Attendees will meet with a financial coach to review personal financial issues and learn about credit and debt management, budgeting and expense tracking and savings.
